Its been a while since I last posted in fact just before Christmas. How long ago does that seem now. The first of my three happenings is that on Christmas Eve my boiler and my hot water system died. I hate the lack of water almost as much as the heat because I can light the fire for some heat. Courtesy of British Gas they arrived very quickly and I had hot water and heat within a very short time.
Next was my fall on Saturday following Christmas Day. I was away staying with my grand daughter and my great grand kids. The house is very old and challenging for those with disabilities and i kept looking at the step and I knew that i would miss the step and fall and hey presto I did. Didn’t feel very well for quite a while namely weeks but gradually felt myself again. Not the sort of thing I wanted to be remembered by having to be hoisted on to my feet with my dressing gown trying to reveal all.
Next was the journey home. The car became very unstable and the run flat tyre gave out and we pulled into a short stay stop where you can buy a sandwich and use the facilities. I was horrified to see what the toilets looked like. It seemed to me that most people didn’t know how to flush the loo or even wee in the toilet. Then again I wondered why the Manager couldn’t keep on top of things. Four hours later a new tyre was being fitted and courtesy of the AA we were on our way home. Only took us about 8 hours and I arrived home very tired and cold.
I hadn’t realised how cold in fact I was. In the end got up had a shower, prepared a hot water bottle and thought hang it all I don’t care about the cost I’m going to put the heat on.
