Morning Routines

Morning Routines

I was under the impression that when you were young your routines seem to be never ending. Shower, hair wash the list goes on and on. Little did I realise that as you got older the list gets longer and longer and the time it takes gets longer and longer.

First of all get up feed the dog let him into the garden which is at an ungodly hour, have a small bowl of cereal for myself. I refuse to start my day at 5 a.m. and then back to bed. Take my medication and we settle down for some more shut eye I hope. Sometimes it works others not. Give up at about 8 o’clock and switch on the mobile and have a scroll through. Much of the time nothing of interest.

Shower and then the pantomime begins. I have so many bits of my body that need attention and different potions etc and I can’t mix them up. Don’t want Ibuleve mixed up with my face cream, so a while before I can get dressed.

Invariably my daughter phones (she likes to know that I have survived the night) and I’m struggling to get my jumper on. So it continues.

Down stairs out into the garden to check any dog mess that may be lurking in the grass and then toast and fruit.

Fire to be cleaned out and made ready for the day ahead. We have been so lucky this year so far. I haven’t had to light the fire early as its felt quite warm, although the heat is switched on from about six o’clock. Can’t face a cold bathroom or indeed a cold house.

The rest of the day is mine until something changes that.

My daughter is visiting today and I have already got a list for her to attend to. Change the bed. Get more coal in. She must love visiting!

Have a good weekend.
